Hello! My name is Alana, I am 21 years old. I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ and I have a passion for art, cooking, and going to church. I love going new places and trying new things. Growing up with five younger siblings, now aged 8 to 13, has made me very family-oriented. As the oldest, I’ve taken on a nurturing role and developed a deep sense of responsibility for their well-being. I have two years experience in childcare and I am currently working on getting an associates in early childhood development.
Over the summer, I’m available to work full-time as a nanny. Once my college classes start in the fall, my schedule will shift a bit and I’ll be available three full days a week. However, on the other two days my classes end at 1:45 PM, so I’d still be happy to help after school. This means I can be available all five days in the afternoons if needed!

I have two years experience in a daycare as well as occasional babysitting. I am also CPR certified and have a car/drivers license.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Field Trips!!! Whether it be a quick trip to the park or a day at the aquarium, I love it! There are so many opportunities for the children to learn and explore(also for me to learn lol) the world around them. It a fun experience for both me and the kiddos.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are many important aspects of being a nanny. One of the most important is communication between both parties. Our main goal is to help the children grow, and the best way to do that is by staying informed and in sync with one another. Another key part is building a strong relationship, not only with the children, but with the parents as well. This way everyone feels a sense of connection and comfort. I am also a firm believer in little to no screen time, encouraging more hands-on, engaging activities instead. Lastly, it’s essential that the children are supported in the right ways so they can grow and truly flourish.

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t specialize in special needs care, but I have had multiple special needs students in the classroom throughout the years. I am confident that I would be able to provide adequate care and support for a special needs child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have mainly worked with younger children during my years at the daycare center, so my favorite moments are when they learn to say my name. Whether it comes out as “Wana,” “Nahnah,” “Lana,” or any other creative variation, it always makes me smile. It’s such a special feeling to know they recognize me and are forming a connection in their own unique way. And it almost breaks my heart when they finally learn to say it the right way.🥺
