I've worked with children in multiple jobs! During college, I worked at a nanny agency and as a teacher at a daycare. This past year, I taught 8th grade.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some of my favorite activities to do with children are arts and crafts, reading, playing pretend, small cooking activities (always child-safe!) and going on walks around the neighborhood. I am always hands-on and love to participate in whatever the children are doing! I like to use my lesson-planning skills to create activities that are tailored to the interests of individual children.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with special needs children in a preschool setting with support from administrators and co-teachers, but I have never been solely responsible for caring for a child with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the children I used to nanny would always say "Alana's here!" after I rang the doorbell each morning. It warmed my heart to know that she liked me so much and it made me laugh a little that I could hear her shouting through the door. It was a wonderful way to start each day and it always put me into a good mood. I love forming relationships with the children I care for and it's nice to see that I'm part of the family's routine.
