The most important part about being a nanny is making sure the kids still feel that love and support even in the absence of their parental guardian. Sometimes life gets busy, unexpected obstacles arise, or maybe you just need an extra set of hands! Whatever the case may be, providing temporary sustenance still needs to resemble the real thing!

My favorite nanny moment was during last year’s spring break. I was helping my great aunt with a spring fest event for ages 5-12. The event included many games and water slides. A smaller child that I had been helping navigate through the crowd throughout the day decided that she wanted to try a water slide which I knew was too big for her to take on alone. After careful consideration & thoughts on wearing wet clothes for the rest of the event, I decided that fulfilling her dreams were much more important! We climbed to the top together and I sat down with her on my lap, ready to slide! The laughter and joy that overcame her as we made it to the bottom will always be remembered. I’m grateful to have been able to help her enjoy herself even when she felt out of place!
