A little bit about me

I am a retired certified master teacher who taught for 15 years. I was a foster parent for 8 years in Louisiana. I am fostering my 8 year-old niece so I recently had to obtain my license to foster in California; I do not plan to get any other foster children in the near future.
I have proven experience advocating for children with disabilities and for children who were adjudicated. I like taking children to age appropriate events and to the park. My niece and I enjoy arts and crafts and cooking. I am a successful realtor; but I only work part-time.

I was a crises interventionist and a community organizer. I sew and fix sewing machines.

I have many children but none to whom I gave birth. The only child that lives in my home is my eight year niece.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I taught grades K-12 special education and computer literacy. I fostered children in my home from eight months to eighteen. I have also allowed young adults who aged out of foster care to come into my home so that they would not be on the streets.

I don't have a nanny moment, but my proudest moment with children is to return children who have social/emotional issues to their families after I have taught them how to function in a family environment.
