A little bit about me

I am a first-year nursing student at Northern Arizona University with the goal of becoming a NICU nurse. I am originally from Tucson, AZ. As the oldest of four sisters and all of my cousins, I grew up caring for children of all ages and became the “babysitter” of my family. While I do not have formal paid nanny experience, I have years of hands-on childcare experience and am comfortable caring for children.
I am BLS certified for both adults and pediatrics and am also certified as a Patient Care Technician and Physical Therapy Technician. I have hospital experience and training that has taught me how to remain calm, responsible, and prepared in different situations. I truly love working with children and would be excited to provide your family with safe, caring, and dependable childcare as it is my dream job to one day be working with children for the rest of my life.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a PCT which is a Patient Care Tech. They are very similar to a nursings aid. I worked with children who came out of surgery and adults who came out of surgery or ones who were just there for an overnight watch to make sure nothing was wrong.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing many things with children like arts & crafts playing games reading with kids watching movies, going to parks, making fun snacks, whatever fun activity you can think of I am willing and will love to do with kids.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is more than just keeping a child safe. It is also about making sure they are happy, engaged, and learning. Children should have opportunities to play, explore, be creative, and stay active rather than simply sitting around. I believe activities that encourage curiosity and creativity are important for their development and help children build skills like problem-solving and critical thinking. Most importantly, I want children to feel safe, cared for, and excited to learn and have fun!

My experience with special needs children...

I don't have much experience with special needs children besides when one who was autistic was visiting his grandmother while being in the hospital. I was able to interact really well with the child he told me everything he knew about dinosaurs and after I was told by the parents they were really surprised that he was willing to talk to me as he does not do well with anyone in scrubs at all and typically goes non-verbal when around them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Well it isn't my favorite nanny moment but my favorite babysitting of my siblings and younger cousins moment. All of the parents had gone out to go have dinner for my moms birthday so I was babysitting all my siblings and I think 5 of my cousins I had set up the living room to be a make shift movie theatre by setting all kinds of snacks and popcorn out to make it look and feel like they were at the movies it was really fun and they loved it we even had a fake register and everything and to this day it is one of my favorite memories I have as a kid. Now we still do a similar thing to that but instead of all the pretending and just eating snacks while watching movies.
