The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important thing is the child being seen or heard. Not being brushed off or having their feelings/thoughts/experiences minimized. Oftentimes, whatever is causing big feelings is blatant, and we just need to slow down enough to connect the dots.
My experience with special needs children...
My only experience is with a child currently under my care at my current workplace. He is too young to be diagnosed, but he is suspected to be on the spectrum.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Teaching a 13 month old how to do the most animalistic growl was hilarious. I did not expect a sound like that out of an infant.
