Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As my mother is a grade school teacher, I’ve had the privilege of assisting her students with class work, projects, and learning activities. I also work in Sunday school with children of all ages regularly, and enjoy the excitement and joy the kiddos bring to class.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy helping children to learn life skills such as cooking, baking, cleaning, organizing, and more. Small activities, like mixing in the ingredients for cookies or helping sweep the floor, can help children to feel included, helpful, and stimulated. I love spending time away from the screen with kiddos, allowing for us to do other activities, such as bubble time, chalk drawing, reading, coloring, playtime, and more. I love crafts and have some fun ones in mind, some of which include learning, as well!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Giving the children the same attention and care as they would receive if mom and dad were home. Consistency is key and persistence is pertinent. Children are so incredibly resilient and capable, so reminding them every day how smart, kind, and loved they are is also so important.

My experience with special needs children...

Though I have limited experience with special needs children, I have a patience that can be applied to any situation, and a willingness and commitment to any children I watch. Tell me what your child’s needs are and I will see to it that they receive it. I am open minded and understanding, kind, caring, and will not treat any child with any less respect and care than another. Your babies deserve the best, no matter what abilities or circumstances they may possess.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was probably when a little girl I’d been watching for a few months introduced me to her pretend boyfriend, whose name was “husband”. She told me she needed him to get things for dinner, and argued with him when she said he argued. Watching the emotion on her face was just the best, she was being so silly and it made me laugh way too hard. She only knew him as husband because her mom calls dad her “husband”, which I thought was so very precious. Anyway, definitely one of my favorites!
