A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Alexia and I am a recent UCLA graduate. I currently work an AM shift at Stanford Hospital and am looking for more work during the evening. I'm the oldest of 6 and have plenty of experience working with my siblings and their friends, which is a range from 8-18 years old. I was also an active tutor woking with elementary to high school students in my community prior to leaving to LA for school. When it comes to working with kids, It is important for me to establish a good relationship with the children I look after so that I can better understand them in terms of how they function, what their needs/wants are, and what it is that I need to do to make this a flourishing experience on both ends. I am very family oriented and hold on to values such as trust, empathy, and understanding very tightly, therefore, such qualities transfer over to my work and the relationships I build with the families I work with.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

After School Peer Tutor for Capuchino High School, as well as holding private tutor sessions with school kids from ages 8-16. I have done plenty of baby sitting gigs throughout my years; I have worked with all age groups ranging from infants to teenagers in high school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

include outdoor games and sports. Creative projects is another activity I enjoy doing. I think it is important to be able to adapt activities to cater to what the children want and need in order for the activities to be worth while.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is to listen to what the children's needs are, and that does not necessarily mean listening to what they say. Kids are such complex and fascinating human beings with minds beyond limits. It is important to work towards understanding what each individual needs from you as their caregiver, otherwise you aren't doing your job.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is when I got one of my 1 year old kids to walk. She had been struggling with her balance but everyday we had a portion of carpet time dedicated to leg strengthening and practicing walking. Then the day came quickly where she took her first steps with me and I couldn't get her to stop walking thereafter! This was definitely such a rewarding moment that I will cherish forever.

Casey R. - Seeking Work in San Bruno

Live-In Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in San Bruno, CA: Casey R.

Childcare is my calling. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with children and being a support in their exploration of the world around them. With my passion for childcare and experience in early childhood development, I provide a nurturing environment to promote the overall well-being of the children in my care. My goal is to help children succeed and build upon their skills. I find that I am able to connect easily with children and form a trusting bond, allowing them to feel safe and comfortable within my care. Because I consider myself a lifelong learner, I reflect on the games and lessons I use and explore new ways to make learning exciting. Furthermore, my take on being a childcare professional is to be an extension of the parents. I am a firm believer in having open communication with parents and working as a team with other household staff. It is important to me to be an asset to families to help them with their day to day needs.
