A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Lexy, a dependable and nurturing caregiver with over five years of experience in nannying, babysitting, and classroom settings. I specialize in infant and toddler care—my favorite age group to work with—and I’ll be graduating in August with my degree in Child Life and Family Studies. I also plan to begin an online master’s program shortly after.

I’m CPR/First Aid certified, comfortable with pets, and confident in handling bottle prep, nap routines, and developmental care. I love involving little ones in what I’m doing—even at a young age, I describe tasks and encourage interaction to support their learning and connection.

I’m looking for a family-oriented position where I can truly feel like a part of the team. Building trust with both the children and parents is essential to me, and I believe that honest communication and mutual respect create the most meaningful and supportive care environment.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve cared for children in many settings, including nannying for infants, toddlers, twins, and families with multiples. I’ve worked with a child who had a colostomy bag and required extra support. I’ve held long-term positions, built lasting bonds, and often stay in touch with the families. My experience also includes working at a Christian early education school, completing internships at daycares, and observation hours in elementary classrooms. I’ve helped care for extended family members and their children during holidays and busy seasons. I love involving children in what I’m doing—whether it’s preparing bottles or folding laundry, I explain the process and invite them to join however they can. I enjoy taking them on walks, to parks or activities, and I show up to outside events because I truly care. I’m passionate about fostering trust, independence, and connection in every caregiving relationship.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love creating fun, meaningful experiences that support each child’s growth. I enjoy taking children to places like the zoo, aquarium, and local parks to explore and learn about the world around them. At home, I engage them with activities like arts and crafts, cooking simple snacks together, and sensory play. With infants and toddlers, I focus on meeting developmental milestones—tummy time, babbling, walking, and early language exposure. I talk through everything we do to help build vocabulary and confidence. I also introduce empathy through gentle play and modeling kind behavior. I love helping children build fine motor skills through age-appropriate tasks like stacking blocks, painting, or scooping. Whether we’re out on an adventure or just having a quiet learning moment at home, I’m always intentional about encouraging curiosity, independence, and joy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is building trust—with both the child and the family. Children need to feel safe, understood, and loved in order to grow and thrive, and that begins with a consistent, nurturing presence. I believe in forming real connections with the children I care for, so they know they can count on me emotionally and physically. It’s also just as important to build a strong, open relationship with the parents based on honesty, mutual respect, and communication. When we work as a team, it creates a supportive environment where everyone feels valued. I take my role seriously because I know I’m not just caring for a child—I’m being trusted with someone’s whole world. That sense of responsibility is something I hold with deep care and gratitude every single day.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with special needs, including working with a child who had a colostomy bag and participating in his physical therapy and swim lessons. In high school, I was part of the DREAM TEAM, a group dedicated to building friendships and inclusion with our special education students. We played games, attended events together, and built meaningful bonds. I also frequently babysat some of those same students outside of school, giving me hands-on experience in adapting care and activities to fit each child’s individual needs. I approach every child with patience, respect, and a commitment to supporting their growth and independence. Whether through play, routines, or helping them navigate challenges, I’m always focused on creating a safe, encouraging environment where they feel understood and valued.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It’s hard to choose just one favorite moment as a nanny because every day brings something special. But the moments that stay with me most are when I see a child light up with pride—whether they’ve taken their first steps, tried something new, or overcome a fear. Being there to encourage them, cheer them on, and see their confidence grow is the most rewarding part of what I do. One of my favorite memories was quietly witnessing a baby’s first steps; I’ll never forget their joy—but I didn’t tell the parents, because I never want to take that special “first” away from them. I believe in celebrating the child while respecting and protecting those once-in-a-lifetime moments for families. Being part of a child’s growth, in even the smallest ways, reminds me why I love this work so much.

Full-Time Nanny Available in Aledo, TX: Brook C.

My name is Brook Coleman, and I am a married mother of two children, ages 12 and 14. I was a stay-at-home mom for nine years, during which I was an active member of the PTO, served as a room mom, and worked as a children’s fitness class and camp instructor. For the past five years, I have worked as a substitute teacher and am currently employed with Aledo ISD. I primarily work at one elementary school, supporting both general and special education classes.

As I transition into full-time employment, my experience as both a mother and an educator has led me to pursue a full-time nanny position with an Aledo/Fort Worth family.
