Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked for a year as a Daycare Teacher-Assistant at the Nightingale Montessori school in Springfield, OH from 2017 to 2018. I took care of babies and young toddlers while teaching them in the Montessori Method. As a Montessori Daycare Teacher-Assistant, the focus was on helping the development of the babies in their motor and cognitive skills, and on nurturing an environment that encourages the children's innate curiosity for learning. I worked with 3 to 5 babies and toddlers in a classroom with one other Teacher-Assistant and two Head-Teachers, who had their own 3 to 5 children each.
Due to life circumstances and going back to college, I changed jobs and was not working in childcare from 2019 until August 2021. I currently work for the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus as a daycare teacher. I work in their infant/toddler room, where there are seven children and four teachers. At the JCC, they follow the Creative Curriculum, which works to foster learning through play.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to take the babies outside to get fresh air and experience nature. We will usually hangout on a blanket in the grass and explore the environment that they can reach. When they are able to crawl, we explore even more of the environment, but while always taking care to make sure they are safe and are not developing rashes. Reading to and with children brings me a lot of enjoyment.

The most important part of being a childcare worker is knowing that you are responsible for the children's needs and safety, and decisions should be made based on what best serves the child. Also, children just want to have fun and learn all about the environment in which they live, and its important to foster their curiosity for learning and to help them channel it into ways that improve their development.

At Nightingale Montessori, we had "work" for the babies/toddlers to choose from to master their skills with, such as age appropriate puzzles, stacking objects and exploring textures. It always felt good to see the recognition and excitement in the eyes of a child who finally figures out the puzzle they had been working hard on.
