My name is Alexis Lee and I am currently a Nursing student at Concordia University Wisconsin. I am currently in their Accelerated Bachelors of Nursing program and I will be graduating with my bachelors degree this upcoming May 2022. I aspire to work with pediatrics, more specifically in pediatric oncology, but not limited to that specialty. My aspiration to work with pediatrics is to advocate for those who are unable to advocate for themselves. Along with providing the children and their families with the proper education, and optimal healthcare they strive to achieve. I hold myself accountable to provide safe and high quality care as a future Registered Nurse. I respect and value diverse backgrounds, methods, and perspectives. Overall I want to create a fun, safe and caring environment for the children I am surrounded around daily.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently in a clinical rotation at the Children's Hospital in Wisconsin, and I have worked in the Elementary School health room to assist the district and school nurse. I have also babysat family members children, my sibling and family friends children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love the outdoors, and play time that allows children to play outside, be in nature and enjoy the outdoors when the weather is appropriate. Allowing children to broaden their imagination. In addition, focusing on children's development, and growth for their specific age group. Teaching and educating the children age appropriate fine and gross motor skills. Along with providing fun play time that does not have to be revolved around education. For example, playing with legos, toys that are educational, and progressive skill "montessori" toys.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I am new to becoming a nanny, but I believe I will truly enjoy it because I love the kiddos that I have experienced while being at elementary schools, and seeing the way different children develop, and express themselves. Along with children being a light in adults lives, and learning about life as they age.

My experience with special needs children...

My mother is a special needs elementary school teacher, and I have volunteered plenty of times in her classroom. Along with having an educational background in working with special needs children due to nursing school.
