My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with several children on the spectrum, including kids that were nonverbal and/or violent. Patients is key. Most of the time children on the spectrum don’t feel emotions or pain the same way people are used to. In result, it’s harder to communicate what they’re needing, patients and consistency is best.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the children I cared for, would run in circles around me every morning as soon as I got to their home. It became a fun routine of spinning with him.
