A little bit about me

Hi I'm alexus, I love kids and creating special bonds with them. It is such a special gift, and I have been very fortunate to grow up with a house full of them all the time. I have babysat for many different families and enjoy every second of it. My sister has two boys the age of 2 now, that I watch from time to time when needed. I would do anything for those 2 boys. I am very outgoing and love making others feel welcomed. I offer many thing's and have a lot of experience with kids of all ages. I am currently majoring in Criminal Justice at Butte College and plan on transferring to Chico State after next year. I have also worked at Raley's for almost 3 years and just need something more in my element and am wanting to work somewhere that brings me joy. I am a very reliable person, and am always on time. My ultimate goal is to make sure I am being a guide for these kids and making them feel safe and welcomed while also having fun! I want to create a bond with the family not only the kid

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered my senior year of high school to work with the kids from the elementary school as a after school daycare. There was about 15 kids everyday Monday-Friday from around 12-5 and I had one other person their helping me out. I would help the kids get set up on their computers if they had homework or zoom calls, and they weren't allowed to play until they had all their assignments done for that specific day. Other than helping with homework and thing's I would take the kids outside to just run around and be kids outside together and just play and get all the jitters out from sitting. All the kids seemed to really love the after-school daycare, and I really loved it as well. It was such a fun experience and I just loved seeing them all every day. I will say they are very entertaining, so I was never ever bored and they for sure kept me on my toes.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love just spending time outside. I think being outside helps with a lot of things. Usually if kids like bubbles I like doing those outside or chalk is always fun. My nephews love playing with anything monster trucks, so I enjoy that too. I enjoy whatever the kids bring me, I am always going to try to make things fun for them!

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important part is creating that connection with the kid I am looking after. Trust, and family are a huge deal to me and when looking after someone I am not related to and barely know those 2 things are extremely important. Being able to create a bond with not only the child but even the parents as well makes me feel so comfortable and like part of the family in a way. I want the parents to trust me 100% with their child and know that while they work, they do not have to stress out wondering if I am doing okay with their child. I like to make sure I leave the parents with full acknowledgment that they can fully trust me and that with time you will see it as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would have to say, this may be gross but it's extremely funny to me now. I had a girl one time about 3, in taking her nap like she always did but she wasn't quite asleep yet and I knew that, so I kept going in to check on her. She was very quiet this day, so I knew something was up because usually she wasn't ever that quiet. Well long story short I walk in the room to check on her, and it smelled like poop extremely bad so i'm like okay I have to change her... nope not the case at all I look at her no diaper on at all, had it all over the walls and everything it was seriously something out of a movie I thought. I don't know why but I just started laughing and gaging obviously but remember she was just a baby and got it all cleaned up and put her in the bath. Funniest and grossest thing to ever happen to me.
