A little bit about me

I've worked as a teacher's aide with elementary age kids for a little over 5 years now. I have such an excitement for creating a nurturing environment for children and I'm even more enthusiastic about learning as much as I can from them. I'm from Weimar, currently living in Katy with my family. My high school sweetheart and I are in the process of moving to Sealy so he can be closer to Columbus, where he's a special education teacher at the elementary. I don't have any kids of my own yet, but I have 1 fur-baby, a boxer named Arlo. Since I wanted to better understand and reach young children in a positive way, I am working on getting my Associate degree in Early Childhood Education. I think caring for and working with children is a challenging, yet rewarding job. Oh-and I'm always up for a game of hide and seek!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I grew up in a crafty home and still love to craft and create. I think reading is so important for children and I love to instill a sense of magic around reading with children. Getting outside whenever I can with kids is a great way to explore nature and get some energy out. I love to play games and have fun just as much as children do.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think that building a trusting relationship with the kids is the most important thing; so they feel comfortable in their own home with someone other than their family.

My experience with special needs children...

I've worked as a teacher's aide in an early childhood special education classroom and learned a lot from that experience. I also have worked with students with different needs in other schools and am familiar with varying needs and expectations.

The most important part about being a nanny...

During the summer of 2020 I was able to nanny for a young girl and one of the last days I was with her we had a spa day. We were having so much fun when, to my surprise, her mom came home early from work and I had a bright blue peel off face mask on from our spa day. We laughed so hard about it because I was so embarrassed, and I even had to drive home with it on my face since it wasn't dry yet.
