The most important part about being a nanny is following the parents guidelines and communicating everything with them, and putting the children's safety & needs 1ST, Always.
My experience with special needs children...
I've cared for my best friends' autistic son with Asperger's Syndrome, throughout his 15 yrs of life. I was also a nanny for a child with ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder) & ADD & ADHD. Also another that had seizures, non epileptic, in which he had one in my care & stopped breathing. I opened his airway & kept him stable until paramedics arrived, Amen. My best friend also has a grandson with a slight case of cerebral palsy that I've cared for.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moments are knowing I'm making a positive difference in "my nanny kids" lives. Also when their little faces light up when they see my face upon arrival... and the when the love is reciprocated.
