I've done volunteer work with children. Prior to quarantine I was a teacher assistant at an elementary school. I worked with struggling kindergarteners on their memorization of the alphabet. As a junior in high school I created a book club for middle schoolers which I still run today. The book club focuses on books with lessons in them. I have also worked with Art for Special Education as a teacher. I taught art to students in order to improve their motor and social skills. As a senior I created a program to help Afghan refugees learn English. I later tested this program with students in the San Juan District.
