A little bit about me

Hi! I’m a junior at Duke University and a thoughtful, dependable caregiver who genuinely enjoys connecting with kids and supporting their growth. I worked at a summer camp last year, where I learned how to balance fun, creativity, and structure while staying attentive to each child’s needs. I also have tutoring experience and enjoy helping kids build confidence in their learning in a patient, encouraging way. I bring a calm, flexible presence and am happy supporting everything from activities and playtime to homework and daily routines. My goal is to create a safe, engaging environment where kids feel supported and comfortable being themselves.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I have cared for children includes working full-time at a summer camp with ACAC Greenville, where I spent my days with kids ages 4–14. I loved getting to know each child’s personality and helping create a space where they felt comfortable, included, and excited to participate. I led and joined in on activities like outdoor games, crafts, and group challenges, and went on field trips where I made sure everyone stayed safe while still having fun. It taught me how to be patient, flexible, and attentive, especially when working with different ages and energy levels.

I’ve also tutored middle school students at Wired Minds in Greer, working with them in subjects like math, reading, and writing. I really enjoy building one-on-one connections and helping students feel more confident in themselves. I try to meet each student where they are, explain things in ways that make sense to them, and celebrate their progress along the way.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing a wide range of activities with children, depending on their interests and energy levels. I love getting outside for games, walks, or just time to explore and be active, but I also enjoy more creative activities like arts and crafts, storytelling, and imaginative play. I’m always happy to help with homework or incorporate learning into fun, low-pressure activities. I also enjoy things like board games, reading together, and coming up with little projects or challenges that keep kids engaged. Most importantly, I try to follow what the child enjoys and create a positive, supportive environment where they can have fun and feel like themselves.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is building trust and creating a safe, supportive environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. I think it is about being attentive, patient, and genuinely present so kids feel heard, valued, and cared for. It is also important to balance fun with structure, helping children grow in their confidence and independence while knowing they have someone reliable they can count on.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was at summer camp when a child who was usually very shy and hesitant to join group activities finally decided to participate in a game after a few days. I spent time getting to know them and encouraging them at their own pace, and seeing their confidence grow, especially when they started laughing and fully joining in, was really meaningful to me. It reminded me how important patience and trust are, and how small moments can make a big difference in a child’s experience.
