Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I initially worked as a 1:1 paraprofessional and then became a classroom teacher alongside clinicians (OT, SLP, LMHC) at a school where I developed an understanding of therapeutic modalities (OT and multi-sensory supports, TCIT, PCIT) and learning strategies that has allowed me to broaden my expertise and extend my service to others.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to support and guide children as they lead me through interest and strength-based curiosity. I like to make learning playful, and to making most things a learning moment. It's also important to let go of all of that sometimes and just have a free, but safe time.

My experience with special needs children...
I have been an educator and neurodiversity advocate, providing learning support and collaborative strategies in the classroom for the last 10 years.
I have an innate understanding of neurodivergent communication styles and cognitive variables. I am keenly aware of sensory integration diversity. My pedagogy is bolstered with an ethos that elevates individual learning styles through a commitment to emergent practices at the critical unions of diversity and neuroinclusion. I revere the unknowable interiority of the neurodivergent life and mind, which must be protected and cultivated.
Examples of my expertise include an inclusive understanding of therapeutic modalities and learning strategies, including executive functioning and planning. Other skills include the transcription of general curricula into individually accessible lessons, collaborating with students on personalized strategies for self-regulation, goal setting, and organizing student-led projects.
