Both of my younger siblings were medically complex as children (specifically my younger sister, who has special needs), and I assisted my parents in their care. I'm no stranger to medical emergencies, and I'm able to keep a level head in such events.
In middle and high school, I participated in the Best Buddies program, which pairs special education students with students in mainstream classes to foster respect, understanding, and friendships.
