The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, supportive, and loving environment where children feel comfortable to be themselves and grow. It’s not just about supervision, it’s about building trust, forming a meaningful connection, and being a consistent, positive presence in their daily life. Kids thrive when they feel understood and cared for, and I believe that’s at the heart of great childcare.
My experience with special needs children...
While I haven’t had direct experience working with children with special needs yet, I’m very open and eager to learn. As a student training to become a pediatric occupational therapist, I’m passionate about supporting kids of all abilities and plan to work closely with this population in my future career. I’m committed to being patient, adaptable, and supportive in any way I can.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments as a nanny was when the kids surprised me with a pretend “restaurant” they created in the living room. They took my order, made a full menu out of construction paper, and even served me snacks from the kitchen. It was so fun to see their creativity and teamwork, and it turned into one of the most entertaining afternoons we had together. Moments like that remind me how special it is to watch kids grow and use their imagination.
