More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My first experience with children, where I fell in love with the idea of taking care of children, was when I was hospitalized at the hospital for almost a week. I had a very bad asthmatic episode that nearly killed me. While at the hospital I worked hard to get better, in the room where I was staying, across the hall from mine, there was a nursery and child care center. I would visit it often to see the cute babies and play with the little ones. I was 14 at the time and I just remember felling so happy. A happiness I could not describe. Anyways, it may not be all that important but to me, it was life changing.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some of my favorite activities with children outdoors is, jumping on a trampoline, playing monster, hide and seek. Once I'm inside, I love baking with them, reading to them or playing with action figures or dolls.
My experience with special needs children...
My first experience with specials needs kids was when I was at the hospital. I noticed they need more patience and more of a "push" to encourage them to be themselves. I didn't realize this up until now because when my baby cousin was born that way, we would feel uncomfortable, afraid we might hurt her, or that she may not have understood. While at the hospital I realized how smart, attentive and aware these children are. They don't need your fake sympathy and they also don't need your pity. What they need is love. More than we think, above all things is love.
