A little bit about me

Hi there! My name is Alosina Thompson. I’ve recently moved back to the US; I’ve been living overseas in New Zealand for 6 months, so I’m excited to be home. I’m a former student-athlete and college graduate with a degree in business marketing, but my love has always been for children and homemaking (I’m hoping to avoid the business world as long as possible haha)!

I am naturally an extremely patient person and pride myself in being understanding and compassionate. I consider myself to be a creative individual who loves art and music and I will often times incorporate that into my relationship with the children I nanny.

I enjoy cooking and have a knack for cleaning and wouldn’t mind doing either or both!

"My boys and family have grown to love Miss Alosina over the last few years! When I first decided to bring on a nanny, I wasn’t sure how someone would feel helping us out with my toddler & primary schooler, but she made the transition so easy! She’s an absolute natural with kids, very nurturing, and sweet. We’ve gotten to know her over time and have learned she comes from a big family with plenty of nieces, nephews, and young cousins, so her whole life she’s basically been a nanny to babies & young ones. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

While I was a college student, I drove and cared for a young boy who just started high school and didn’t have a license yet. This job included pick up and drop off from school, meal prep, and the occasional weekend outing when his parents were out of town and he needed some company. I would plan activities for us like visiting the record store (he loved music), thrifting, dog walks etc.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Any type of arts and crafts is my specialty since I really enjoy doing it as well. However, I pride myself in picking up on cues quickly; I try my best to figure out what the child likes and dislikes in order to organize an activity that I think they’d enjoy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Genuinely loving the child. I’ve always believed that children can sense whether or not someone is genuinely interacting with and caring for them and I pride myself in doing just that.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While I love and prefer caring for infants and toddlers, my favorite nanny moment is actually the relationship I created with a 14 year old boy who I drove and cared for in a part time, seasonal nannying position. We eventually came to like the same music and would plan activities together on weekends that his parents were out of town. We still keep in touch to this day!
