More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I work at a local daycare in Inwood Iowa after school on certain days of the week! At the daycare, I help plan lessons and crafts for different age groups. Since I have school during the day, I usually can't teach the lessons but during the summer I was a full time lead teacher for the 2- year olds! Currently at my highschool I go down to the elementary and tutor 3 sixth graders during my study hall! My love for kids and teaching them has made me want to pursue a degree in elementary education!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing crafts and playing games! As a kid, I always painted rocks, made mud pies, went on walks, and played tons of games. Being so active young made me into the person I am and I want other kids to have a fun childhood like I did.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a nanny, I want to help families become more closer and have fun memories. Being a nanny help gives breaks to the parents but still has time for the kid to have attention and everyone is happy in the end. I want to make memories!

My experience with special needs children...

One of my best friends has a brother with down syndrome and type 2 diabetes. Sometimes she had to watch him while their mom went to get groceries. I was able to observe, and learn how handle stressful situations. I am also in a class at my school called Peer Adaptive PE, a physical education class which gives special need kids more guidance in playing physical games. In this class I got paired up with student who is my partner and we make PE as fun and easy as it can be for them!

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite babysitting moments was when one of my kids I was watching took the stickers we were using for our craft and stuck them all over their pet dog. It ended up being a great teaching moment about where stickers belong and how to treat animals.
