A little bit about me

I am a recently married student (online currently) and just moved to the area. I enjoy a wide variety of activities and interests and love hands-on projects. I have no shortage of fun engaging activities for all ages. I love sports and outdoor recreation. I have a lot of experience with children with OCD, anxiety, and kids on the spectrum. I am currently working towards a degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). I am very patient, kind, fun, and outgoing. Additionally, I completed two years of high school online and multiple college courses online as well. This makes me a great candidate to help kids with distance learning. I am available to start immediately. . I would love a long term client if possible. I have a squeaky clean driving record. I have been CPR certified in the past but my certification has expired. I am willing to be re certified. I have no allergies and am very pet friendly.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I nannied for a family for 2 yrs that had a 12 yr old boy with severe OCD and ADHD and an 8 yr old girl. I also interned with Johns Hopkins in a pediatric role. I participated with Destination Imagination (DI) for many years. DI is a global educational nonprofit dedicated to inspiring the next generation of innovators, leaders, and creative problem solvers k-12. I was also a summer camp counselor for 4 years for a track and field camp in Colorado.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love all sorts of activities! I love creating hands on challenges that kiddos can invent and create solutions to (think Destination Imagination). I love arts and crafts. I am a great story book reader! I make great voices! I can also hold my own in some Supersmash bros but am hands down the worst SuperMario Kart player that exists. If electronics are not for your kiddos I also love going to the park and swinging on swings, playing tag, and the floor is lava. I also have a plethora of great card games to share and I wont say no to a good board game. I have played just about every sport imaginable so if your kiddo need help practicing I'm confident I can help. I am the jack of all trades really, what ever your kids are up for, I am too!

Patience, patience, patience! Simply loving the kids and being excited for the things they are is so important.

My experience with special needs children...

My youngest brother is on the Autism Spectrum which inspired me to pursue a degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) which I am working on now. ABA therapy is a scientific technique that applies an empirical approach based on learning principles of respondent and operant conditioning to change and reinforce positive social behaviors. I Also nannied for a family for 2 yrs that had a 12 yr old boy with severe OCD and ADHD. I also interned with Johns Hopkins in a pediatric role where the team i was with tracked bacteria in saliva of infants on a Navajo reservation.
