Along with my professional childcare experience, I’ve spent my life caring for children in my own family. As the oldest of five (ages 21, 14, 8, and a newborn), I’ve always supported daily routines, homework, playtime, and emotional needs. I’ve also helped care for many of my younger cousins, and I often surprised my grandmother — who is a teacher — by visiting her classroom and helping with the students whenever needed.

Arts and crafts, playing outside or doing sports, reading together, and taking fun trips to the library or park. I love activities that let kids be creative, active, and curious.

For me, the most meaningful part of being a nanny is forming genuine connections with children — becoming someone they can count on, almost like an older sister. Being welcomed into a family’s life, seeing kids feel safe, laugh, or run up for a hug is the most rewarding part of this job.

One of my favorite moments was with a four year old boy I cared for. When it was time for me to leave, he held onto me and didn’t want to let go. His mom reached for him, but he stayed in my arms while she made dinner, asking if he could come home with me. His older sister later told me she loved me. Moments like these remind me why childcare means so much to me . I get to create real connections, making children feel safe and loved, and being someone they genuinely enjoy spending time with.
