I have 3 children of my own ( all grown 18-27) and was a stay at home mom for 12 years, managing the home, and schedules. ( cooking, cleaning, errands, Doctor appointments, play date etc…)

I received a degree from the school of Early Childhood ED in fall of 1997. My philosophy for working with children ( school or nanny position) is heavily based on the child’s social emotional being. My beliefs is this provides a foundation for our lives as we grow and develop. Early childhood is a passion I have shared with children ranging from infants to 6. I am currently a HeadStart teacher for 3-5 year olds, I have nannied for a 3 year old boy a family with 3 kids 10-16, a family with a newborn little girl, and a family with a 8-10 year olds! :) I am looking forward to new opportunities outside of a classroom setting. I have been a teacher for 15 plus years, in different aspects. Montessori, and traditional play based. I have also nannied for a 3 year old in the evening's. Additionally, I have worked for family with 3 kids 10-16, and a family with a 8-10 year old children.

Bonding with a child or children. I have had the pleasure of working with so many different children in the 20 years. Finding each and everyone unique and special.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience in ECE has led me to work with all different children, ages, cultural backgrounds as well as Developmental supports. As a teacher I have had and have kids within my classroom that need extra supports. This may be ADHD concerns, Spectrum Disorder, processing and other developmental delays. I work with Grant Wood for referrals, and go through the process with the families while implementing supports within the classroom depending on child and need.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a teacher of young children and a nanny, I am always amazed at what comes out of a child’s mouth lol. I enjoy equally when a child thinks the most simple things are the funniest thing ever! Belly laughs that are infectious. You cannot help but laugh with them :)
