My experience with special needs children...
One of my nieces is an invalid. Taking care of her is something that is hard to put in words. It can be exhausting and challenging at times, but it is also one of the most meaningful things I've experienced. She is turning 6 this year so she's still small enough that I can carry her quite easily. She's also mostly blind and depends entirely on others to care for her as she's not able to handle her body or talk.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the sweetest memories as a nanny is simply the little everyday moments that don't seem like much at the time. The cuddles, the silly conversations, reading books together and seeing there faces light up when I walked through the door. Those are the moments I'll always remember because they reminded me how special it is to be trusted with someone's childhood and be a small part of their growing up.
