Hi! I’m Amanda, an experienced nanny, early childhood educator, and household manager with several years of childcare experience in private homes, classrooms, outdoor programs, and as an international au pair. I have cared for children of different ages and needs, including neurodivergent children and children with feeding-tube routines. I love planning fun, engaging days with outdoor adventures, parks, crafts, reading, and age-appropriate activities. I’m also the Founder and Lead Educator of Camp Salamanda, a nature-based program for children ages 3–5. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

working as a gymnastics coach, babysitter, nanny, mentor, outdoor nature educator, international au pair, and founder of my own nature-based preschool camp. Through these roles, I’ve worked with children of a variety of ages and supported their learning, development, safety, and confidence through play, routines, outdoor exploration, and hands-on activities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

going to parks, spending time outside, nature walks, library trips, reading, arts and crafts, sensory play, music, imaginative play, and planning age-appropriate outings. I also love letting children take the lead with their interests and turning everyday moments into fun learning opportunities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is safety. I want the children in my care to feel safe, supported, and comfortable while also giving parents peace of mind. I stay attentive, communicate clearly, follow family routines and expectations, and always prioritize each child’s physical and emotional well-being.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for neurodivergent children and children with additional medical and developmental needs. My responsibilities have included supporting feeding-tube routines, medication administration, emotional regulation, positive behavior support, and creating consistent routines. I always focus on meeting each child where they are, being patient, encouraging independence, and helping them feel safe, understood, and supported.

The most important part about being a nanny...

has been watching a child I cared for, who has ADHD, grow emotionally and socially over time. With support from his family, teachers, therapists, and caregivers, he learned healthier ways to handle frustration and challenging moments. Seeing him begin to use the tools and coping strategies he had been taught, build confidence, and truly thrive was incredibly rewarding. Being part of that team and getting to witness his progress is something I’ll always be proud of.
