A little bit about me

I am passionate about giving children the opportunity to thrive and be safe and nurtured. I’ve had the honor and pleasure of being with a variety of children and families over the years doing part-time nanny work, coaching in sports (namely skiing), and leading nature walks with small groups of children.

I am certified in CPR and First Aid, and I am highly trained in nervous system co-regulation techniques through the Academy of Inner Science. I am a creative cook, and gardener, and am highly organized around the house.

Most importantly to know "about me" is that my deepest care is for the well-being of your children and you, their family environment. This could involve supporting the expansion of their creative expression, developmental capacities (language, etc.), physical health, and more.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've worked with young children in several settings - at-home nanny, babysitting, worked in the daycare at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in the Tetons, and most recently worked in the nursery at my sister's church.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Walking in nature, meeting whatever need is present, singing to them, rocking to sleep, emotional presence, activities that support their development, and more!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Allowing the parents to guide me in filling in for them when they cannot be present. The primary relationship of parent and child is SO important, and I know that they need support in a way that is consistent with their values and intentions. I'm here for that! As well as to bring my experience and insights to share.

My experience with special needs children...

I only have experience in group settings. I have not yet had the pleasure of caring one-on-one for a special needs child, but am interested in expanding this and feel very open to learning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are so many! The moments when the pre-verbal communication is so apparent... through the squeals, cries, expressing a need in the way that they can. I am particularly recalling a time when I was with Samantha 3x/week from the time she was a newborn until she went off to preschool. I was new at nannying and learning to read her signals and thought she was telling me she needed a diaper change. But she was ready to pee and yep, you guessed it... she peed on me instead of the diaper!
