While I’ve been a nanny for nearly 7 years, I’ve also tutored children in early education, spent a year as a homeschool teacher in Africa, and spent a summer in college working with at-risk youth in San Antonio.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy taking kids on adventures of all shapes and sizes, whether it’s a hike, a swim, a rock climbing gym, or the library for story time. I have enjoyed baking gf cookies, drawing with side wall chalk, making smoothies, digging tunnels in the sand, and good old fashioned swings and slides. Among my favorite activities is engrossing children in a book we read together.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing about being a nanny, to be, is being an advocate. Of being on their side, hearing their story, understanding their perspective, and ultimately making them feel safe and heard and known, and able to walk forth in the confidence that comes from this known-ness.

I have no experience with special needs, but I am open and willing to gain experience and skills needed to work with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It’s hard to name just one, but on my first day with a family, my little girl Olivia, who was 10 at the time and very shy, was hiding behind her father when I arrived. I got down on my knee to be more on her level (she was quite petite), engaged silliness mode at just the right level, and made her smile enough to come out and take my hand and join me and her brothers in our activity. I’m not sure why exactly, but that moment stands out to me.
