The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe and well kept environment for children to be able to grow and feel validated period I feel that building trust between not only the kids, but their parents as well is key. This to me means being reliable, using open communication, and genuinely caring about the child's. Well, being, development and happiness period I take Pride in supporting Routines, encouraging learning, whether it's through teaching or play with being hands-on, Being positive, and having a calm President that can be counted on every day.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a nephew and cousin both on the autsim spectrum both who I babysit for often. I also work with the autism project doing social skills groups for teenagers as well as during the summer being a counselor for the autism project camp working 1 on 1 with individuals with a spectrum of disabilities. At my high school, I participate as a peer mentor for unified sport proving support to amazing athletes who play. Also working with those some group of individuals, I was the sitting vice president of the Best Buddies club at my high school helping to create inclusion with not just our group, but our school as a whole.
