A little bit about me

Hi!

I'm Amelia Hapgood from Fayetteville, Arkansas. I grew up the oldest of 4 girls. My mom and dad raised me to be very responsible. I was always helping my mom with my little sitters. I started babysitting when I was 12.

There are 3 families that I just grew to love while watching their kids for the last few years. I would absolutely LOVE to get to know you and your children and help YOU carry out your needs and goals for you kiddos.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

When I was working for the Refugee Agency in Fayetteville Arkansas I became very close with the young kids. Our family supported a refugee family with 9 children. I helped with the younger children and got to learn some words in Swahilil and I also tried to help teach them English words. Aadi, Gloria and Ernsfor were so much fun. We helped them get into their new apartment and got it all set up. It was so much fun! That was especially a relevant experience for me.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading to them, playing with toys, painting or drawing or crafting. Going hiking or playing games outside. Helping them with homework, making fun snacks with them! I can do all kinds of fun things with the kids!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I can't take the place of a mother, but I can sure provide them fun and safety, with continued growth and learning. I know how it is for busy moms. My mom was a music teacher with 4 kids and as the oldest I was her right hand. Let me be your right hand as I prepare to become a busy mom myself someday!

My experience with special needs children...

I have 1 newphew and 2 cousins that have Downs Syndrome. I love them so much. My nephew is such joy and brings light into our extended family!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite Nanny moment had to be when I created a nature scavenger hunt with the kids! We went to the nearby park and I had clues for each of the kids to find certain things in nature. Leafs, twigs, different trees. They learned the names of nature while they were having fun. The final prize was ice cream!
