Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing a wide variety of fun and educational activities with children, especially ones that spark creativity and curiosity. Some of my favorites include hands-on STEM experiments like slime or simple circuits, arts and crafts projects, and sensory play with things like kinetic sand or water tables. I enjoy reading stories, encouraging imaginative play, and exploring the outdoors through nature walks and scavenger hunts. I also like incorporating music and movement, playing educational games, building with blocks or LEGOs, and even doing simple cooking or baking projects. I always aim to make learning fun and engaging!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The best part about being a nanny is building strong, trusting relationships with the children and their families. Watching kids grow, learn, and reach new milestones knowing you played a part in that is incredibly rewarding. Every day brings something new, and there’s nothing better than being a positive, supportive presence in a child’s life.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve had the joy of working with SPED (mainly autistic/ behavioral) children and it’s been one of the most rewarding parts of my childcare experience. Every day is different, and I love the creativity and patience it takes to support their unique learning styles. It’s fun finding new ways to connect whether through sensory play, visual aids, or hands-on activities and watching their confidence grow is incredibly fulfilling. Their energy, humor, and perspective make each day special, and I’ve learned just as much from them as they have from me.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was watching one of the little ones I cared for take their very first steps. We had been practicing for weeks, and seeing their face light up with pride and the wobbly little steps turn into confident ones was such a special and heartwarming moment. It’s those milestones that make this work so meaningful.
