More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive childcare experience that spans several roles. In 2018, I worked as a childcare aid at an at-home daycare facility for about six months, where I cared for children aged 1 to 7 years. In 2019, I served as a teen staff member for the Vance County Boys and Girls Club, gaining valuable experience in engaging and supervising children. Additionally, I've worked at two daycare facilities, where I floated between different age groups, from infants to 4 and 5-year-olds, ensuring that I have a well-rounded understanding of the needs and developmental stages of young children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging children in a variety of fun and educational activities. Indoors, I enjoy reading stories and singing songs, which not only entertain but also help with language development and creativity. For outdoor activities, I like taking the kids to the park or going for walks around the neighborhood. These outings provide great opportunities for physical exercise, exploration, and learning about the world around us.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is ensuring that the children are safe and in good hands. It's crucial to create a secure environment where they feel protected and cared for. Beyond safety, it's also essential to focus on their learning and help them meet educational and developmental milestones. This involves engaging them in activities that promote growth and learning. Additionally, fostering a healthy relationship with both the children and their family is key. Building trust and open communication with the family ensures that everyone is on the same page and working together to support the children's well-being. Helping out parents is another vital aspect, as supporting them in their daily routines and being a reliable resource can ease some of their stress and contribute to a more harmonious household.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is nap time. I feel like it’s a great time to really connect with children and foster trust. When children are going to sleep and waking up, they are at a very vulnerable moment, and it's important to be a safe and trustworthy person for them. This helps them feel secure enough to turn off their senses and just relax. It's a special time where I can provide comfort and reassurance, building a strong bond with them. I enjoy learning which techniques work for which children; whether it’s singing to them, rocking them, rubbing their back and etc. I enjoy watching their cute little faces as they dose off and the big smiles they have once they wake up.
