A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Andrea and I am so excited to meet you. As a mother of two teenage daughters, one of whom has autism, I understand the challenges and rewards that come with caring for a child on the spectrum. I have also gained valuable experience through my work as a Personal Care Assistant and Healthcare Care Aide, where I have had the privilege of caring for individuals with disabilities. I am a patient, compassionate, and dedicated person, driven by my passion for helping others. It brings me great joy to be able to support other mama & papa bears in their daily needs and to make a positive impact in their lives. Let's work together to create a happier and more fulfilling experience for you and your child.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is spending quality time with children and engaging in a variety of fun activities, Whether we're inside on a rainy day or outside in the sunshine, there are so many wonderful ways to keep kids entertained and stimulated. Indoors, I love playing board games, doing arts and crafts, playing their favorite Playstation/Xbox games with them or building blanket forts with the little ones. But when the weather allows, nothing beats heading outside for some fresh air and adventure. We might go for a nature walk, have a picnic in the park, or play games like tag and hide-and-seek. Seeing the excitement and joy on the kids' faces as we bond through these activities is truly priceless. It's all about creating positive memories and fostering a sense of imagination and exploration in the children I care for.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important aspect of my job is the positive interactions I have with the child/children. From the moment I walk through the door, I make sure to greet the child with a warm and enthusiastic tone. Throughout the day, I am constantly engaging the child in fun and educational activities, using a cheerful and upbeat tone of voice. I understand the importance of building a strong and trusting relationship with the child, and I make sure to communicate with them in a positive and encouraging manner. Whether it's reading a story, playing a game, or simply having a conversation, I always strive to maintain a happy and optimistic tone in our interactions. These positive interactions not only make the child feel valued and loved, but they also create a nurturing and enjoyable environment for them to grow and thrive in.

My experience with special needs children...

As I previously mentioned in my profile, I am incredibly grateful to be a mother to an amazing autistic child. Not only do I have personal experience with raising a child with a disability, but I also have professional experience working with children and adults with disabilities. This combination of personal and professional experience has truly shaped me into the optimistic and empathetic individual I am today. I have learned to approach every obstacle with a positive mindset and have gained a deep understanding and appreciation for the unique strengths and abilities of individuals with disabilities. I am eager to use my knowledge and experiences to continue advocating for and supporting this incredible community.
