More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I babysat for many years as a teen and young adult, within my own large family and for many other families in the community. I was a nanny for two kids for years while raising my own kids. I've taught at homeschool co-ops, all age groups. I always had a house full of kids to care for. I was also a foster parent to three young children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing activities with kids. Reading, art projects, STEM projects, science experiments, puzzles, Legos, PlayDo, board/card games, etc. Park time, field trips, library time, and nature walks. Music, singing, and dancing. Baking/cooking/preparing healthy snacks together.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It's important to me to form a connection and bond with the kids, to feel like family. They should be excited to see me, to know that we will have fun-filled adventures when I'm there. And it's important that the parents trust me fully.

My experience with special needs children...

I have two neurodivergent teens, one who is Level 1 ASD and both with ADHD. I have always homeschooled them. I did not have diagnoses for them when they were younger, but learned to be patient and adapt to their differences and unique needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the kids I was a nanny for from age 4 is now 19. When he was 11 years moved 2000 miles away. And still he calls me every birthday, Mother's Day, and holiday and twlls me he loves me. Lately he's been calling once per week. I love him like one of my own.
