Indoor activities I like to bring out crafts, kids usually love coloring, or textures like kinetic sand, play dough, even fort building which is a favorite. For outdoor, possibly play ball or go on walks to get out of the house and get fresh air.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My goal being a nanny is creating a connection with the child to make sure they are always comfortable and happy. I know how stressful it can feel being away from your parents and introduced to a stranger, that’s why it’s so important to reassure them they are safe and do activities to create that bond that they can trust you and it is a positive experience.
My experience with special needs children...
I personally have special needs children in my family and have cared for them myself. Being from an infant and a 6 year old. I have experience with constant redirecting and also impulsive physical behavior.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments is when I was watching 3 children, they were all a bit shy and scared to warm up but after talking to them and their interest they slowed opened up and it ended in a “dance party”. It was such a funny and cute moment seeing they finally got comfortable and we’re having fun my first time being there.
