A little bit about me

Greetings! My name is Andrea, I go by Dre and am an East Bay native. I have over twenty years experience working with children of all ages, including twins, multiples, children with special needs/disabilities and gifted kiddos. I have a degree in Nutritional Science and a some teaching experience. My favorite place to be is outside and when I’m inside I am likely to be found in the kitchen as I love to cook. I am very patient, outgoing, honest, trustworthy, punctual and caring. I am currently with a family and their 9 month old and three year old daughters. I will be with this amazing family until August 2024, when the youngest will start preschool. I know it’s a year from now, but like I mentioned I am punctual and like to be ahead and ready to go when the next family is ready for me.

I worked for girls Inc. in Santa Barbara as the kinder fun teacher. I volunteered to teach elementary - high school students about the importance of nutrition. I applied the knowledge I obtained in college to care for a chid with cancer for 7 years. I have worked closely with twins, multiples, special needs, learning disabilities and ADHD.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Science, art, and cooking projects are always a plus. I like to incorporate as many sensory activities as possible every day, by using letters, numbers, touch all into one. I love getting outside, whether it be the park, a hike or a neighborhood walk. I enjoy reading and doing puzzles with the children I look after. I am very patient and great with assisting homework.
