A little bit about me

My name is Angela Barnes. I have worked with children for twenty plus years. I enjoy teaching, art , dance, and coaching gymnastics. I have worked in every child care setting you can think of such as day cares, preschools, camps and schools . I have a passion for working with children, and youth of all ages. I am also a mom. My oldest children are 25,24,22 and I have 17 yr old twins. I implement learning, and developmental skills. I have always been an educator, and I also love to instruct, and facilitate groups, such as, babysitting safety courses, and groups for preteens and teenagers to promote self esteem, and positive decision making . I am dedicated to creating a warm, loving atmosphere. I enjoy helping families with their children as well. I have a 27 credits in Early Childhood Education. Riley Elementary School as a Lead teacher . Bayview, and Madison Highschool as a student Advisor. YMCA as a preschool teacher, daycamp counselour, schools out counselour, day care teacher, gymnast coach, and babysitting safety course instructor. Pathfinders as a crisis interventionists.
Little Wonders and Jumping Jacks as a daycare Teacher. I also have worked through other nanny agencies.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Swimming, playing at the park, singing and dancing. Making crafts, and making learning fun. I specialize is potty training, and monitoring developmental and cognitive skills.

Building trusting relationships with children, and their families. Making sure that the children are in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. Protecting children, teaching moments, and responsibly caring for each and every child in a positive manner.

My experience with special needs children...

I have some experience with special needs but did not take a course in children with different abilities. However, the nanny agency I worked for two families with children with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When they are having fun, and happy to see me. When their personalities begin to show, and we are able to do things they enjoy. Playing with the children, and allowing them to express themselves.
