A little bit about me

I'm 47 and have 5 of my own children. (ages [phone number hidden] and 14) & 3 grandchildren (2,3,&4). Just worked with a family with 3 children 3,5,and autistic 9 yr old boy. I only left that job due to pay rate (50 a day Nashua to Hooksett and vise versa)and majorityof my pay I had to pay forgas each way. I did have a greatbond withthe children andmade me a littledisappointedthat I had to part ways withthe 3 childrenwhen I spent just about 10 hrs a day, 5 days a wk with them for just under 2 yrs..I love to teach them things, I am very hands on and like to teach them their basic skills and prep them for kindergarten and school in general.I grown up with child care in my life. My mom did it when I was in grade school and I started at age 12. I have experience with Remote, Zoom learning. I don't mind doing light house keeping and laundry as well. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have babysat children since I was a preteen. Right away I knew I loved teaching and seeing kids smile and enjoying their time with me.
As I mentioned, I have 5 children who are now grown and have their own children, my grandchildren and they are my entire world. There are numerous babysitting jobs I have done but honestly can not remember dates, and names of parents. I have even been taken with families on their vacations so the parents could have time alone, and to just help out if needed. Even with having my 5 children they have thanked me for being a loving, caring and patient mom and they are able to use so much of what they grew up seeing and remembering when they were young and seen how I raised them has taught them so much and how to be great mommy's and daddy's to my grand babies. I'm not perfect but I always try to learn from making mistakes and consider it as a learning experience.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

We did a lot of crafting, and with crafting comes colors, shapes and explaining to them to use their imagination is the best crafting tool there is . My favorite part of being with the children. We loved decorating for holidays, their bdays or their mom and dads bdays, etc. We did lots of learning colors, shapes, alphabet,and numbers and hearing them do these on their own later is the most rewarding feeling. We also liked going outside and using nature as a learning tool.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To see children thrive and take in so much and learn is what I love and makes me want to continue being a babysitter/nanny. My grandmother and my mother both were childcare workers and I am no different. I love spending the time I have with children teaching them while at the same time having fun. The most important, rewarding greatest feeling of all as a nanny is watching children grow and learn and know that I was a huge part of them doing that. Being consistent and routine is very much the most important part of being a nanny on a daily basis. These parents are trusting and relying on me to keep their children safe, spending quality time teaching them life's basic skills and to me that's a huge privilege and them trusting me is a great feeling and I'm going to do my very best to do anything and everything to make sure I don't let any parent down when they put their trust in me while they are out working hard for their family to be taken care of.

My experience with special needs children...

I have 2 yrs experience with autistic children. I did remote learning with him, (Zoom classes when the pandemic was going on.) I learned to communicate with him on his Ipad. He taught me a lot and I do believe I taught him a lot as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have lots of photos and videos of being with the children I watched. It's hard to pick one because everyday was always a new fun, adventurous day when I was with them. I loved taking them for walks and teaching them about nature, animals and seasons..
