A little bit about me

My name is Angela Solomon. I raised two girls as a single parent for most of their lives . I have three beautiful grandchildren. I was a baby sitter in my home for three years before my children started to school . I worked at Joy Junction Childcare in Winterville NC for six years. I was a floater when I first started so I have taken care of children from six weeks old to give years old . Then I was in the three year old room for two years and the 16 month old to two year old room for three years. My first aid and CPR ran out in 2022. I have taken other education classes during the time I worked at Joy Junction Childcare. I would like to work daytime hours Monday thur Friday if possible. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was an assistant teacher for six years at Joy Junction Childcare. I also kept children in my home for three years. I also was a Wed. night teacher for ages 9 yrs. to 12 year old children at Greenville Church of God when Pastor Charles Thompson was the Pastor . I was the Sunday School teacher for ages 6 and 7 year old children at Greenville Church of God.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts and Crafts, Reading, Games like hop scotch , tag, red rover, one two three stop light and other games . Board games or playing ball outside or hide and seek. Children playing on swings and slide .

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being able to teach them new things and love them and spend time with them.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with one special needs child age 2 years old when I worked at Joy Junction Childcare. She could not talk at all but a speech therapist came to childcare to work with child . Child could not walk at all but she did crawl . I took her by both hands and I would walk her three or four times during the time she was at school . I would also give her the toys she could hold onto and stand up and walk inside the classroom and outside on the playground. She was walking before she went into the three year old classroom. She also was talking some words too . I played ball with her on the floor and.she would roll the ball to me . She did arts and crafts and learned how to color a picture . She was a sweet adorable loving child . I so loved seeing her smile everyday.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have never been a nanny but have been a baby sitter or childcare teacher. My favorite moment was when the children I would teach would come back to see me after they moved up to another classroom. I had them come back every afternoon when they were leaving to go home to hug me goodbye . It always made my day that they remembered me after they moved up to their new teacher .
