I was a School Portrait Photographer for 6 months and interacted with children with special needs all the time. While I would let the teachers take the lead to ensure the child's safety, I loved taking the camera off the tripod and really jumping in and learn their personality. I understand the patience and compromises required to for a safe and successful interaction.

Seeing my 9 year old show off her equestrian skills she learned at camp. Being able to show up for my kids even when mom and dad can't. Whether it's mom, dad, grandma, cousin, neighbor, or nanny, I believe it's important for a child to know that someone is there for them.
