Though I do not have what would be considered “professional” childcare experience, I am the oldest of 6 siblings to a single mother who needs a great deal of help. I have always been very fond of children, I started babysitting for my neighbors around 13 years old. Three of my siblings are special needs as well, so I have great skill in that area if necessary. I spent a lot of my free time working with the children in the daycare at my high school, as well as joining clubs to spend time doing activities with the specialized education peers in my school.
A lot of my time outside of school and work goes to my siblings, and it has since I was only about 12 years old. I love helping out my mother and I also lend a hand to my neighbors when they need it as well.

My experience with special needs children...
My brother, now 3, has autism. My sister who is almost 5 is also on the spectrum and has severe ADHD. I have grown to learn how to communicate properly with them, as well as focus their attention. I have also found many activities and different ways to help them calm down, either during an episode or sensory overload. I understand every child and disability looks and feels different.
