A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Angelina Whitfield. I am 23 years old and have been taking care of children before I could take care of myself. I am the youngest of 4 and 7 (an aunt to over 10). I became an aunt at 3 years old, and by the time my second nephew came, I knew everything I needed to keep both of them in check. Growing up in my household with my siblings having children at such young ages, I was their built-in babysitter. Which was no problem to me. I love them all and they are the reason I push every day. Down the line, my sister had a baby girl who we did not know was non-verbal. Around COVID I was sent home from school and my sister cared for both my niece and nephew. She did not have the capacity to handle both of them. So, stepped in to help her out. In and out of virtual class, I cared for my niece. Playing, talked, and cleaned for my sister. What this experience has taught me is that it’s not just the child; it's about the mother too. Moms are heroes, but they need time to cope.
