I’ve worked at 2 before/after school programs, as well as a preschool and a daycare. I also have little brother who is now 9 and spent lots of time looking after him. I’ve babysat for quite a few families in my hometown and their littles ranged in age from 3 months to 8 years of age.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Coloring or reading, outside time (playing on the playground, going for walks, drawing with chalk, playing soccer/football), listening to music with them and teaching them songs.
I’ve also enjoyed having children help with cooking or baking, making sure to use concentrated supervision while engaged with them and allowing them to help with the process.

My experience with special needs children...
I have worked in a couple programs that have had children with special needs and I have enjoyed it; they take a bit more special care and need a bit more one on one but it is absolutely worth it. I think forming a good relationship with them, as well as other children to be very important.
