A little bit about me

Hi I’m Aniston, I’m a 22 years old online college student. I’m from Singer, LA and child number 4 of six, with 9 nieces and nephews. I started babysitting at 9 years old, and haven’t stopped since. Children have always been a big part of my life that I have cherished very deeply. While in college, I have expanded my reach, working at a daycare and, on weekends, babysitting many of my students. Even after leaving that job, I continued to babysit for some of those families, as I built a connection with them. Since leaving my day care job, I have experimented with many other fields, but my heart always brings me back to working with kids. I do all of my school work online, to allow myself more time to dedicate myself to my work, so that will never be an issue for me. I have no physical limitations and am very ready to get to work!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Providing the help to parents who are doing the best they can. I was raised by two amazing people who put in so much hard work into my family, and to see that I was able to alleviate any stress to them was always my goal. Now that goal has translated to others as well. If I can provide any sort of help to a parent that is shouldering so much stress and responsibility, then I’ve done my job.

My experience with special needs children...

My little brother and my nephew were both diagnosed with Autism at young ages. Though they were both diagnosed as high functioning, I watched the struggles they both faced. I have done immense amounts of studying on how best to accommodate their needs and put that information into practice. My little brother also had Apraxia of speech, which limited his ability to communicate, leaving me to do it for him, learning his ticks and his tells as to how he was truly feeling. He’s grown into a great young man, so I take much pride in him. I also have experience with children with ADHD, ADD, anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and children with physical limitations, such as leg deformities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Watching the milestones. I love getting to experience the growth, it is so amazing to see. From switching to solid foods to starting school, I’ve seen it all, and it just is the most fulfilling aspect of the job.
