The most important part about being a nanny is showing up with love, patience, and consistency—every single day. To me, it’s not just about keeping schedules or entertaining kids—it’s about being that steady, gentle presence in their lives. The one they can run to with tears, share their biggest giggles with, or simply feel calm around on a hard day. Being a nanny means becoming part of a child’s most precious memories, and I don’t take that lightly. I treat every little heart with the tenderness and care I’d want someone to give my own.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was with a 4-year-old who was absolutely convinced I was a real-life fairy. Why? Because I always "magically" knew when she needed a snack, could fix any toy with a paperclip, and once braided her hair in a way she said “only fairies know how.” She even made me a wand out of a pencil, glitter glue, and a marshmallow and told her parents I was now the “boss of bedtime.” We had tea parties with invisible guests, dance parties in pajamas, and bubble parades through the living room. It was silly and magical—but also reminded me how much kids thrive when they feel safe, seen, and completely loved.
