Learning each child you work with, and what excites them, what helps them the most, and what you can do to help them grow. I find it very important how to set boundaries and be firm and kind at the same time.

I have worked with many children on the autism spectrum, a child with a rare syndrome that involves seizures and learning delays, and children with learning and developmental delays.

When I was nannying I was doing homework with a 6 year old boy who struggles with school a lot, and he made it through all his sight words without making a mistake for the first time and he was so proud of himself. It was really great to see him accomplish something new and gain some more confidence.
