More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have over 18 years of experience working with children of all ages in childcare and educational settings. I served as a Lead Teacher in a childcare facility for eight years, supervising children, planning educational activities, and supporting their growth and development. For the past 10 years, I have worked at Oglethorpe Point Elementary School, gaining valuable experience in both general education and special education settings. My responsibilities include providing individualized care, behavioral support, assisting with daily routines, encouraging social development, and helping students achieve their academic and personal goals. Working with children is truly my passion, and I take pride in creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy keeping children engaged through fun, creative, and educational activities such as arts and crafts, reading, outdoor adventures, baking, music, sensory play, puzzles, and interactive games. I love incorporating hands-on learning, imaginative play, and age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, independence, confidence, and social development. I also enjoy adapting activities to accommodate children of different ages, abilities, and individual needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and trusting environment where children feel valued, understood, and supported. It’s about being more than just someone who watches over them. It’s about building meaningful relationships, understanding their individual needs, encouraging their growth, and giving parents peace of mind knowing their children are in caring, dependable hands.
For me, being a nanny means treating every child with the same patience, compassion, respect, and love that I would want for my own.

My experience with special needs children...
I have 10 years of hands-on experience working with children with a wide range of special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, speech and language disorders, physical disabilities, emotional and behavioral challenges, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and seizure disorders. Throughout my time at Oglethorpe Point Elementary School, I have provided individualized care, behavioral support, communication assistance, social skills development, help with daily routines, and academic support. I understand the importance of patience, safety, consistency, and adapting care to meet each child’s unique physical, emotional, developmental, and educational needs. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive, compassionate, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued, understood, supported, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite babysitting memories is with a fifth-grade student who had a traumatic brain injury and whom I had the pleasure of caring for many times. One evening, he had me chasing him all over his house while he ran away giggling nonstop! Eventually, I was completely exhausted and collapsed onto the family room sofa. When he realized I wasn’t chasing him anymore, he came looking for me. Once he found me, he climbed his big fifth-grade self right into my lap, rested his head on my shoulder, and continued giggling in my ear!
It was such a sweet moment! I like to think he knew I was tired but still wanted to be close and share a laugh.
That experience perfectly captures what babysitting means to me. It’s not just about supervising children; it’s about building trust, creating joyful memories, understanding their individual needs, and making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Sometimes, the smallest moments leave the biggest impressions on our hearts.
