More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked with children in many settings, including babysitting, tutoring, and teaching middle and high school students internationally. I volunteered with Teach For America and supported elementary classrooms throughout my university years in Washington, DC. I also worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where I assisted with postpartum mothers and babies in the NICU. My background in Biology and pre-med studies has given me a strong understanding of child development, health, and safety.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love reading, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, baking, cooking, music, and educational games. I enjoy helping children discover new interests, whether it’s learning a new language, exploring science experiments, or simply having fun at the park. I believe every moment can be an opportunity to learn and grow!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is building trust, with both children and their families. I believe in creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, encouraged, and excited to learn. As someone pursuing a career in medicine and leading my own nonprofit, I understand the importance of compassion, responsibility, and investing in the next generation.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working with children and individuals with special needs across a wide range of ages and abilities. My experience began in the NICU at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where I supported newborns and their families, and has continued through my work with elementary students with learning disabilities and high school students with ADHD while teaching internationally in France. These experiences have strengthened my patience, adaptability, and ability to provide individualized care. I understand that every child learns, communicates, and experiences the world differently, and I strive to create an environment where each child feels safe, supported, and empowered to succeed. Working with children of diverse needs has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey and has made me a more compassionate, attentive, and well-rounded caregiver.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was helping a child gain confidence in reading after weeks of practice. Watching their face light up when they realized they could do it on their own reminded me how meaningful it is to support children as they grow, learn, and believe in themselves.

Babysitter Available in Somerville, MA: Kaia D.
Hi!! I am Kaia, I have a Bachelor of Science in Medical Molecular Biology and have spent the past 5 years working in the biotech industry, prior to which I worked in various medical settings both hands-on and administratively. I first began working in childcare while in high school where I nannied part-time/full-time for three different families and worked full time over the summer as a sailing instructor at a summer camp. During my time in childcare I focused on ages 4-15 but, have experience with younger children and babies. I recently moved to Somerville and live a very active lifestyle with hobbies including running (I am a marathoner), cycling, swimming, bouldering, yoga, crocheting, drawing, reading, and cooking/baking. As a result, I can assure you that we will always be busy and having fun! I am happy to help with light cleaning and cooking as I know this can help ease the load quite a bit. If you have any questions, or would like to chat feel free to message me :)
